I specialize in the treatment of addiction. Clients come to me seeking help from many different forms of addiction. People suffer from addiction to food, sex, work, drugs, alcohol, gambling, internet, shopping and more. I customize various treatment methods to address the needs of each individual, accounting for all contributing factors.
For over a decade, I have worked with people who suffer from addiction. Often people use drugs and alcohol in an attempt to relieve the pain of other issues, such as depression or anxiety. I work closely with my clients to help them through the initial phases of recovery. I work alongside my clients and teach them structure and accountability to help them become their best selves.
I treat the underlying causes of addiction, not just the symptoms. My focus is on family issues, trauma, psychological factors and co-occuring disorders such as anxiety and depression. I firmly believe that a commitment to self is essential to the recovery process.
Here is a photo of me from the Documentary series on addiction Dr. Feelgood that aired on the REELZ Network in January of 2016.
This is an article I wrote for Goop about addiction:
We live in the age of addiction. It is a time of unbridled desire and reckless overconsumption. Addicts seem to be everywhere. We point our fingers at the drunks stumbling down the street and recognize the drug-addled miscreants shuffling behind abandoned buildings in the bad sections of town.
